There’s something so magical about a moody fall home aesthetic this time of year. The flicker of candlelight, the soft rustle of leaves, and that deliciously crisp air that begs for another layer of knit… I’m especially thrilled that Halloween lands on a Friday this year. It feels like the universe’s secret way of saying, “slow down and savour it.”

The weather couldn’t be more perfect this week. A little chilly, perfectly overcast, and just the right amount of dramatic. It’s as if the sky itself has joined in on the fun. There’s a quiet trend making its way into beautifully designed kitchens everywhere: glass cabinets with fabric. It feels like the perfect blend of classic charm and lived-in ease. I love that it softens the look of traditional glass fronts, while still offering that layered, collected feel we all crave in a well-loved home.

Whether done with a delicate linen, a sweet ticking stripe, or something bolder, glass cabinets with fabric instantly bring soul and personality to a space. They’re practical too, disguising less-than-perfect stacks of dishes while still letting your kitchen feel open and airy.

I find myself saving version after version (some favourites linked below), each one offering its own take on this timeless detail. It’s proof that small design choices can add so much soul, all while staying incredibly functional.
