Home organization is one of those evergreen habits that always feels great, but this time of year, it feels almost necessary. I won’t lie, 2025 was a bit of a doozy (just me?) After a restorative few weeks off for the holidays, I’ve since been on a major purging and organizing spree lately. When this sudden urge strikes, I truly believe it’s my way of creating space for what’s next. Letting go of what’s kept me stuck so that I can invite in new possibilities. New energies. As we step into 2026, the urge to embrace home organization isn’t just about a tidy closet or a neat pantry; it’s about creating space of all varieties.

I’ve been opening drawers, closets, and even digital folders I haven’t touched in years and it feels so darn good to tidy things up, file things away, and let so much stuff go. A professional organizer will often tell you to start with zones that drain you most. Your desktop, your entryway, junk drawers, overstuffed closets… And make sure to celebrate the tiny wins as you go. So I’m doing just that!

Here are a few things I’m loving right now:
• Baskets and bins that make sense (no chaos behind the pretty)
• Seasonal wardrobe swaps that keep closets crisp
• Quiet corners cleared for creativity
• Labels, boxes and cute catchalls (I like finding unique ones at thrift stores!) – my very best friends at the moment

Let 2026 be the year we all feel lighter at home.

This past weekend was the first time in forever we didn’t have a jam-packed schedule, and it was exactly what we needed. We cozied up at home, decked the halls, and even binged a few classic (and new to us) Christmas movies. The holidays are officially in full swing around here.

What made it extra special? My daughter’s little squeals of excitement. It’s the first year she remembers last Christmas, and her enthusiasm is positively contagious. Magical already, I swear. And if I’m being honest, I’m feeling pretty proud of myself too. This is the first year I’ve had all my decorations organized in their respective bins ready to go, and it’s truly been such a breeze. A little nod to my motto: buy what you love once, take care of it properly, and use it year after year.

Oh man, it’s “back to school” time and I am in my feels about it. I usually only post a “back to work” type feature this time of year (as seen here, if you missed it!) But this year things are looking a little different for me. After a ton of denial, and more than a handful of tears, I can comfortably say that I now have a school aged child. I’m still not emotionally prepared, I can assure you, but we are here and we’re going to embrace it. Needless to say, I’ve had all things “back to school” taking over my brain for a while now.

side note: my fall shop is live

Since it’s our first time, I’ve been doing all the research and collecting all of the things. The labels, the backpacks, the lunch boxes – the bins to make packing said lunches a breeze. It’s been a great way to appease my inner virgo rising, and temporarily distract myself from the feels – I must admit.

A good friend of mine, whom has children a few years older, recently told me that she views packing her kids lunch as a little way to say “hello” to them in the middle of the day. So she always tries to make them a little extra sweet and a little extra special. I loved that notion and can’t wait to do the same.

I also picked up some of these matching heart bracelets that we can each wear while we’re away. The verdict is still out on whether they’re for her or for me (kidding – I know she’s going to love them. Currently, when we’re apart, I draw a heart on each of our hands to help her with separation. If you have or know of a velcro baby yourself, it really works for us- this felt like a nice upgrade).

At any rate, here are a few things I’m loving right now. For the love of back to school!

  1. Cat Backpack | 2. Stainless Steel Water Bottle | 3. Vans Old School | 4. Unicorn Lunch Bag | 5. Bento Lunch Box | 6. Snack Storage Bins | 7. Bentgo Lunch Box | 8. Shark Backpack | 9. Mini Sauce Containers | 10. Lunch Bag | Converse Runners

Though this is the first year of my life I’ll have a school-aged daughter of my own (howwww! She is supposed to be this big, dangit) this time of year has always re-invigorated me, even pre-kids and post-school. We’ve had an incredible summer and I’m really looking forward to soaking up what’s left. But I can’t help but feel that familiar tug the always rears it’s head right around now. It’s the urge to get organized, to establish more of a daily rhythm and ritual – to get life back on track.

Selfishly, I love taking this opportunity to hit the reset button. Purging what no longer serves me, starting a new planner, and getting my organizational systems in place delights me to no end. I love collecting and curating the little things that surround me that bring me joy. The ones where form and function collide! Here are a few things that are calling to me right now, just in case you, too, are in need of a refresh.
