Interior design trends 2026 has been buzzing in searches for a while, and although I don’t believe in trends as a rule, I do *love* noticing the common threads I’m seeing in spaces these days. Lately, I find myself drawn to those that feel soulful, layered, and truly personal. This year, for me, feels more like it’s about more than surface aesthetics. It’s a shift in focus about spaces that reflect the people living in them and the moments they gather around. Here are a few interior design moments I’m loving now, and forever.

Check out my interior design trends post for 2025, 20242023202220212020201920182017 & 2016.
While all of them were most definitely in the spotlight that year,
I still subscribe to many!

SKIRTS – MORE LAYERS!

Skirts aren’t just for fashion. From sinks to sofas, layered detailing adds softness and visual intrigue that makes rooms feel finished and charming.

CREATIVE ARCHWAYS

Interior architecture continues to have its moment. Curved entryways, built-in storage with gracious doors, and intentional shapes make transitions feel thoughtful and architectural.

MARBLE IN A BIG WAY

Design: W Design Collective | Photography: Lauren Lee Photo

Marble isn’t just for countertops and floors. Lately I’m noticing it in bolder and bolder ways. Clad kitchen islands, bathrooms, matching door casings, or intricate backsplashes… it’s being used boldly and beautifully as a material anchor.

Photo & Design: Lindsey Goddard Interiors

Overall, what I’m loving most isn’t a checklist. It’s the continued return of thoughtful detail, layers of texture, and spaces that feel more and more like you.

Lately, I’ve been spotting more and more patterned sofas sneaking their way into living rooms, and honestly? I couldn’t love it more. Whether it’s stripes, florals, or something totally unexpected, they bring such a fresh energy to a space. A bold sofa instantly becomes the room’s focal point. They’re the kind of piece that feels like a little exhale, a statement without trying too hard.

That said, patterned sofas are definitely on the trendier side, so it’s worth approaching them with just a touch of restraint. The key (in my books) is balance: let the sofa shine, but ground it with solids, texture, and neutral tones so the whole room feels effortless. Stripes, in particular, are always a safe bet… there’s just something about their timeless, tailored appeal.

Would I choose one? Absolutely. Pattern play is such a fun way to add personality, and when done thoughtfully, it’s the kind of design choice that makes your home feel uniquely yours.

My love for all things Studio Mcgee is no secret. So when I stumbled upon their new spring home decor collection, it was all I could do not to stop and stare. They have this uncanny ability to keep their finger on the pulse of timeless yet fresh design, and their latest pieces are of no exception.

Whether it’s a beautifully textured throw or the perfect vase for spring blooms, McGee & Co. is always one of the first places I go when sourcing for clients. Their attention to detail and effortless style make them a constant source of inspiration.

While this isn’t a sponsored post (I wishhhh!), I couldn’t resist sharing in case you’re on the hunt for a little refresh. I’ve already added a few things to my cart and bookmarked more for upcoming projects. If you’re as smitten with Studio McGee’s vibe as I am, this new collection is a must-see (my favourite pieces below <3).

If there’s one overarching theme for 2025, it’s embracing the lived-in look; imperfection, casual elegance, and a more playful approach to design. This year, the rules are out the window as we focus on spaces that feel approachable, unique, and, most importantly, like home. Expect to see a resurgence of cool tones; think fresh whites and soft blue-greys, ushering in a lighter, airier vibe after years of sandy hues dominating the scene.
